Jon Jorgenson · Fractional CFO · Las Vegas
Financial leadership for complex and growing businesses.
Fractional CFO, controller, and strategic financial advisory for real estate investors, property operators, construction companies, and multi-entity organizations. I've run finance at the executive level across 22 entities and about $164 million of high-rise development, and I work alongside ownership.
How I work
Three pillars
01
Financial Leadership
Fractional CFO and Controller expertise.
02
Real Estate & Operations
Property, development, and portfolio finance.
03
Complexity & Growth
Multi-entity reporting, controls, and strategy.
Sound familiar?
Three problems that bring owners to me
Cash surprises
The P&L says you made money. The bank balance says otherwise. Nobody can explain the gap before the 15th.
Entities that don't tie out
Multiple companies, properties, or projects, and no one reconciling them. Intercompany balances drift and the consolidated picture arrives weeks late.
Reports nobody trusts
Your CPA fixes the books once a year. A lender or investor asks for property-level or job-level detail and the room goes quiet.

About
Jon Jorgenson
I've been the finance lead at companies most people in Las Vegas have driven past: a custom sign manufacturer, an HVAC distributor, real estate developers and brokerages, a produce wholesaler, a licensed cannabis operator. In every one of them I built the finance function rather than inherited it.
I'm not a CPA, and I don't do your tax return. I work alongside your CPA so the books they receive in January are the books you ran the company on all year. What I bring is operating judgment: how much cash you actually have, which property or project is carrying the rest, and what the numbers say you should do next.
I live in Henderson and work with owners, investors, and operators through Northstar Rose, LLC.

Common questions
Are you a CPA?
No. I am not a CPA and I do not prepare tax returns. I work alongside your CPA so the books they receive are clean, reconciled, and match what you ran the company on all year.
What is the difference between a fractional CFO and a fractional controller?
A controller makes sure the numbers are right and on time: the close, reconciliations, controls, and reports. A CFO uses those numbers for cash, capital, and strategy. Many owners start with the controller work and add CFO work as the books become reliable. Here is the full breakdown.
What does an engagement look like?
We start with a free 30-minute call. If there is a fit, I scope the work and propose it in writing. A Finance Function Build typically runs six to eight weeks. Ongoing Controller and Fractional CFO work runs on a monthly retainer.
Which accounting systems do you work in?
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and Online, NetSuite, Sage, and Yardi, plus Excel and SQL for the reporting that sits on top of them.
